Kitty, ask your dr if you are a candidate for the Oncotype test. It can determine if chemo would be beneficial for you. Chemo is great but if it is unnecessary, much better to avoid. There is criteria, one thing is that it isn't in the lymph nodes. I have a friend whos dr was going to give her chemo, she insisted on the Oncotype testing and found that it wasn't necessary. She is several years in remission.

About Me:
I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and fortunately it hasn't spread to my lymph nodes. Early detection is so important so make sure you do your monthly exams and see your doctor if you find anything unusual. My doctor and naturalpath both didn't think my lump was anything. It was right along my bra line and both thought it was likely just a cyst, but my doctor sent me immediately for a mammogram. We have a wonderful new clinic in my city and they did the mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy all in the same day. I was booked for surgery three weeks later.
I am still recovering from surgery and I've had a few more tests. I am waiting to meet with my oncologist to determine my treatment and get the rest of the results from my pathology tests.
