hi, iv been diagnosed with early cirrhosis . I was wanting to get your opinion, the groups opinion that is, about all the new promising treatments. From colchochine to stem cell therapy. Can you help seperate the hype from the hope. What do doctors tell you about giving up drinking, i havent drank for 18 months. Havent been ill yet, I am told i am a 3 on a sliding scale of 1 - 10 between being normal and decompensated stage. Any views welcome

my baby was awaiting a liver transplant in london with a biliruben level of well over 400. the medical team took advice from a hospital in boston usa and decided to try fish oil . they had to apply for a licence to use it here as my baby was the first in uk to get it, it took just 7 wks for his liver to return to a safe level, his biliruben is now 15 !!!!!! see video on my profile

Tina. I was told that Cirrhosis of the liver is curable if caught early. lots you can to do to keep the disease from getting worse and the liver can reheal itself. (If caught early) Except the Cirrhosis I have. There are lots of sites on here about cirrhosis. Go to google and you can learn lots. My Doctors stated that All kinds but PBC can be stopped from going futher and do the right things and it can heal, but only if caught early enough. Prayers with you, blessings Terry

Hello there! new kid on the block here I guess. I have Cirrhosis, and am always looking for new ideas and imformation, for surviving with this disease as a reality in our lives. I am very cautious of alternative methods as they can do more harm than good. Terry is correct there is no known cure other than transplant and even then there are no promises. But there are treatments and methods for dealing with the symtomns. The most important thing I have found is to remember that we are Liver Disease, but people with it and ready to fight the good fight!

Primary Biliary Cirrhosis is not curable except by A liver Transplant. It is a autoammune disease that attack the bile ducts and in turn turning the liver to cirrhosis. This is not caused by and drininking or Drugs. They do not know the cause and only cure is a transplant.
